Yes! Sanding is the most critical aspect of alloy polishing. All alloy is sanded prior to being polished. The amount of sanding required is dependent on the finish you're chasing.
Yes and No.. It takes a lot of time and a lot of sandpaper to remove absolutely all pitting. We're talking hours and hours of sanding to achieve a perfect like new surface.. Most customers don't want to pay for this, especially if the surface is heavily pitted. An extremely high level of finish can still be achieved whilst having a small amount of pitting left.
Best thing to do is to discuss your level of expectation when dropping the truck off.
We will only ever take wheels off to polish if you have requested us to do so or if we recommend they come off to achieve the level of finish you desire.
Generally when a wheel is left on the truck, only the outer lip area is machine polished whilst the back wall & inner lip area is hand polished.
This depends on the jobs we're doing & how urgent you require the truck back. Typically for single pieces like bumpers & bullbars only a few hours to a day is required.. For a full detail on something with a bullbar, quad tanks & sleeper... allow us 2 days to complete the job.
In most instances jobs can be completed in a single day, pending other bookings at the time. For a more accurate time frame, please call and we can give you a firm indication over the phone.
Regular maintenance is key! We sell multiple products in store & online that will help you keep your truck looking great. Please don't be afraid to ask for advice as to which products are right for you.
Due to the nature of our work sometimes taking a lot of time to complete one truck, our lead times can fluctuate a fair bit. Our standard timeframe is roughly 1 week, but it can sometimes extend to 2 - 3 weeks pending the time of the year
Prices vary depending on the finish you're hoping to achieve. In some instances, customers are only looking to put some shine back into their paint and are not worried about small scratches and swirls still remaining. Other customers want a complete paint correction where there's no scratches or swirls remaining and this is a much more thorough & time consuming job to complete.
