Our Maverick polishing compounds are used with our Airway buffing wheels to increase the effectiveness of the wheel while being used during the cutting, buffing, and polishing process when working on, or restoring a shine to various metal. We have a large range, but to break it down, some are of a coarser consistency and are usually used to remove scratches and heavier imperfections, while the others are finer, which lends to them being used to bringing a shine to and finish your work piece. They should be applied to airway buffing wheels by coating the edges of the airway buffs.
 
Tripoli compounds such as our T2 Tripoli should be used for initial cutting and buffing, with the aim of removing more apparent scratches and blemishes during metal restoration on aluminum. It is the first step on on polishing aluminum and is paired with our Orange Airway buffing wheels.
 
The newer EDR Compound is more of a 1-step process that will provide a great cut, whislt leaving a finish that is more than suitable for the majority of punters.. Use with either the Orange Cutting Wheel or Yellow Airway for a great all round shine!
 
Our Infinity Green Compound is often used as the second step in polishing aluminium. It is paired with our Yellow Airway Buffing wheel. This should produce a fantastic clean shine with reduced hash marks & improved clarity.
 
Our 3-Series Yellow compound represents a show quality finish and we recommend that you pair with a white flannel buffing wheel. Keep in mind many of our polishers are quite happy with the two-step process outlined above and leave show polishes only to their most cherished pieces.
 
If you wanted to go a step further, we offer our top of the line Competition Purple finishing compound. Couple with the white flannel wheel and the results after using this compound will leave you spell bound! It really is for those chasing a competition show finish. It's the ultimate finishing step to the perfect polish.
